The research groups of Professor Bengt Långström and Professor Lars Baltzer have initiated a collaboration around an innovative concept for protein recognition that allows convenient and specific labeling of protein binders for molecular imaging purposes. The combined experiences in the fields of organic radionuclide chemistry and biomolecular recognition, in addition to that in organic synthesis, have an initial strong focus on the visualization of inflammatory processes in vivo using PET technology especially using the generator produced 68Ga.
